An installation using an ubuntucd works without problems, but an installation with FAI seems to result in an endless loop kernel (CPU load at 100%). Last strange message is about APIC calibration non consistent with PM-Timer, which does not appear using the Ubuntu CD. Using the noapic option for the FAI VM works (when io_APIC is deactivated). On Ubun [10:43] tu it works with de- and activated IO_APIC Flag and without noapic flag, that means with APIC. Any ideas what might be the reason for these different results? [11:14] hi all, i have a question about fai-setup-storage, lms, and a preserved lv [11:15] http://pastebin.com/6FEgHWjU [11:16] setup-stroage [11:16] setup-stroage removes all lvs, but then creates a new partition table [11:16] which faisl because one lv is still open, thus keeping the partition table open [11:17] hey [11:17] one lv should be preserved :) thats because it removes all lvs but this one, keeping the vg open, keeping the partiton table open. sorry :) [11:18] id like to alter the packages that are installed in "/target" via an apt preferences file - where would i have to store that one? i tried several places (basefile, $nfsroot) but it "does not work" [11:20] lohr: The setup-storage maintainer is not often here in IRC, but always replies to mails when you post to the linux-fai mailing list. [11:22] thanks mrfai [11:25] mrfai: preferred language german or english? i am german speaker [12:47] lohr: you can choose both. [13:28] falko (~falko@orwell.qc.chemie.tu-darmstadt.de) joined #fai. [13:29] hi is there a way to include multiple additionally mirrors (backports/multimedia/...)? [13:42] yes. Just add them to the sources.list file(s) [13:50] i addes it to the /target/etc/apt/source.. via instsoft hook .. should i add it in the NFSROOT? .. [13:56] This depends on where you like to use it. In FAI there are multiple sources.list files. /etc/fai/apt/sources.list, then one in the nfsroot and one in /target. By default /etc/fai/apt/sources.list is copied to the other locations. But you have to recall make-fai-nfsroot -v [14:00] only my workstation need mutlimedia/backports (server/cluster dont have a neeed for that).. what would be the best way to include the mirrors only in a specific Faiclass ? [14:01] you can use fcopy or ainsl(1) [14:03] ok thx [14:13] ErKa (keryell@173-228-88-49.dsl.dynamic.sonic.net) joined #fai.
