10:09 dwatson56I have a working fai setup, but when I put /boot onto lvm (over raid1) GRUB_PC/10_setup fails. I can manually step in and chroot /target; grub-install /dev/sda  and get a running system. How would I go about automatically discovering the correct drive from BOOT_DEVICE="/dev/vg00/boot" ?
10:15 dwatson56I'm gurrently installing to a degraded raid 1 array, but I don't think that that should be an issue?

13:27 dwatson56GROOT=$($ROOTCMD grub-probe -tdrive -d $BOOT_DEVICE || lvdisplay -m $BOOT_DEVICE | grep "Physical volume" | sed 's:[^/]*/dev/\(.*\):(\1):') seems to do it, does that seem reasonable?
13:27 dwatson56(as a change to GRUB_PC/10_setup that is

13:31 falkohi
13:32 falkois there a easy one liner to add a line before another - in this case add "ntpdate -db myntpserver" before exit 0 in the rc.local
13:33 falkoi could create an awk or sed script but i assume there is a better solution
13:34 ranulffalko: why whould sed be hard to use?
13:35 ranulffalko: sed -i 's/exit 0/foo\nexit0/' /etc/rc.local
13:35 falkoits not hard but i thought something like "ainsl -some -option" would be more readable

17:06 falkothere seems to be a "df " output at the and of the fai installation there i got "tmpfs .... 0 100% /target/var/lib/dpkg"  is that a problem ?
17:08 falkothe directory is unmounted  after i press CTRL+C to avoid the reboot
17:29 falkoi wrote a check to disable the ramdisks with less than 500MB RAM  and now my installation is faster *confused* :)
