[17:19] hello all, i'm trying to set up fai, and got as far as trying to boot a Dell R310 with pxe; it does get a response from the dhcp server, it connects to the tftp server, it loads the vmlinuz and initrd, but than it tries to do a dhcp request on eth3 and it fails (while the dhcp server does offer him one). Anyone mind skimming through my configs ( http://paste.debian.net/123371/ ) to see what i'm doing wrong? [17:22] I guess you should have a look at http://wiki.fai-project.org/wiki/Multiple_Network_Interfaces_Howto [17:23] There are often problems if a computer has more than one NIC and is booting from one card, which the becomes something but not eth0 [17:23] IIRC there were also some discussions on the fai mailing list [17:25] ye, i tried both solutions described there, but it keeps ignoring my 'ip=' line [17:27] I would try to disable all other NIC's so you can go further. Then have a look at the fai mailing list about dell and multiple NICs. [17:27] ok, thanks [17:45] ah, found a workaround.. when i looked through the script that selects the interface, i noticed a 'live-netdev' argument it uses to 'force' an interface, and it doesn't look at 'ip=' whatsoever [18:47] Mrfai (~lange@kueppers.informatik.uni-koeln.de) left irc: Quit: Lost terminal [18:48] Mrfai (~lange@kueppers.informatik.uni-koeln.de) joined #fai.
