11:41 codaexcuse me guys, I'm trying to install my first x86 client with fai, and for some reason it seems to hang with "request_module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-464c".. does this sounds familiar to anyone?
11:44 codauh, oh.. I've found it's pointing to a wrong nfsroot, maybe that is causing the problem
11:51 codathat was the problem :)
12:36 codadoes anybody know how to tell a hook to send an email to the admin after the installation finishes? I've trying to do it with 'mailx' (added to package_config), but the hook fails with "mailx: command not found"
12:39 oz__coda: you have to add it to the nfsroot
12:40 MrfaiFirst, mailx is missing inside the nfsroot. But after adding it to the nfsroot, you also need to set it up, so it knows which mailserver to contact to send the email. Normally during an installation, no daemons are running on the install client, so I guess it's not that easy to send email during installation.
12:40 codaoz__: ohhh, ok.. so 'chroot $NFSROOT, aptitude install mailx and make-fai-nfsroot'?
12:40 codaoops
12:41 oz__Mrfai: I have that here to, worked flawless
12:41 oz__copied the mail config from my installserver, so mail is sent fine
12:42 codaI'll give it a try
12:42 codathanks :)
12:42 Mrfaioz__: it would be nice to have this documented in teh FAI wiki
12:53 AhmtahExecuse me, How can we choose nfsroot or nfsroot-i386 for clients "automaticly without fai-chboot' ?

15:47 Ahmtahnfsroot or nfsroot-i386 , how could we choose it automaticly for the client
15:47 Ahmtah?
16:20 M`cc`_since you have to boot different kernels, you already have distinct pxelinux configs for 32 and 64bit, you can put the nfsroot there

18:10 h01geris http://wiki.fai-project.org/wiki/MAC_based_Booting_PXE still correct? i mean the pxelinux.cfg/default example, it has /usr/lib/fai/nfsroot in it....
18:10 h01geractually i'm rather interested to get a working pxelinux.cfg/default..
18:17 Uetzguerdo you mean a working pxelinux.cfg/default for the setup mentioned in the wiki, or just any old default file?
18:20 h01gerone that works
18:20 h01geri dont intend to use fai-chboot
18:22 Uetzguerwell, i think i can help you with that
18:23 Uetzguerif you give me a few minutes, that is...
18:23 h01gersure :)
18:27 Uetzguerhttp://www.topfen.net/user/ul/common.conf <-- this one works for me
18:28 Uetzguerit is actually installed as pxelinux.cfg/common.conf, but that's only so it can be included from mac-specific config files
18:28 Uetzguerthe default.cfg just has "INCLUDE pxelinux.cfg/common.conf
18:43 h01gerthank you
18:52 h01gerUetzguer, yay, works. now for the next problem... (no git installed in nfsroot, easy one... :)
18:57 Uetzgueryou're welcome
