09:12 mturs?
09:13 ursyes
09:13 mtSo you fixed your problem just the way I would have had to fix it anyway, by ignoring this line
09:13 mt(the problem with setup-storage)
09:14 mtbut could you tell me whether there's anything that would explain this warning given by parted?
09:14 mtis it a standard SCSI disk?
09:15 ursI think it's quite a normal sata disk
09:15 ursmaybe the controller is a little strange, I will check that later

09:16 mtare you still getting such warnings, if you run parted on the installed system?
09:16 mtmaybe to explain my questions:
09:17 mtOf course we can just ignore this warning and hope everything is fine, but I'd just like to understand why the warning occurs in the first place
09:17 mtand I couldn't figure out that much by googling it

11:32 ursAh, I guess I found the root of the problem: I was booting an older kernel, for which no modules were present in the nfsroot
11:32 urshence it just used an ultra-generic driver to talk with the harddisk and was unable to determine the sector size
11:32 urs(This also lead to it not being able to mount the ext3 later on, and subsequently installing the whole system into the ramdisk)
13:40 mturs, Mrfai, so I guess we will not add this Warning: ... pattern to the lines ignored by setup-storage
13:40 mtshould the problem occur again we should better tell people to make sure they have loaded the proper set of modules
13:41 mtI believe I have seen some similar report with missing modules on the net
13:47 ursmt: but it would be a good Idea that setup-storage echoes the line it's confused about
13:47 ursinstead of just dying with "Table Header not seen"
13:47 mtindeed
13:47 mtshouldn't be too hard to accomplish
13:52 Mrfaigood solution. +1 from me
14:10 FBIfai: 3 mt committed revision 6178 to 7 fai:  Added patch to included parted output line if parsing parted output fails (the
14:10 FBIfai: mysterious Table header not seen yet).
14:19 mturs, should you have a chance of testing your "broken" setup once again:
14:19 mtThe patch is in 4.0~beta2+experimental38
14:22 ursexcellent, I may try that tomorrow.
14:23 mtthat would be great!
14:23 mtIf you get a chance, please mail your results to mt@debian.org
14:23 mtthanks a lot!!!

16:59 Mrfaiwhat is the very very beginning?
17:00 Mrfaiis it a dhcp request from PXE or from the kernel?

17:02 pav5088_ahh, yes...  I thought this was not the gosa part, but it must be.
17:02 pav5088_I will ask on the gosa channel.
17:02 MrfaiI guess it's something with a dhcp request
