Nick change: goofy -> goofy2
17:57 goofy2Hi - I just tried to install Ubuntu 10.04 via FAI / dirinstall, but it seemed to use Debian sources instead of Ubuntu sources. I put the UBUNTU1004.tgz in /basefiles, defined a UBUNTU1004 class, added the class to the fai command. Because it used the Debian sources (I think), the installations hangs at LAST/50_misc, waiting for input because it removes important packages. Any hints?
18:05 mgoetzegoofy2: uh, so what does /etc/fai/apt/sources.list say?
18:05 mgoetzegoofy2: in any case it would be very clear which sources are used if you just look at the logs
18:06 goofy2mgoetze: Thank you, didn't check the obvious.
18:09 goofy2Do i need to run fai-setup again after changing the /etc/fai/apt/sources.list ?
18:15 goofy2I'll just do it :)
18:16 goofy2The following ESSENTIAL packages will be REMOVED!
18:16 goofy2sysvinit
18:17 goofy2Seems there is something wrong..
18:40 mgoetzegoofy2: well it might not work too well to generate an ubuntu nfsroot on debian. anyway i can install hardy and lucid just fine with a lenny nfsroot... but you need to make sure files/etc/apt/sources.list/* is appropriate and copied soon enough
18:41 goofy2mgoetze: I'm also on Ubuntu 10.04.
18:43 mgoetzeoh, well, i don't do that, check the wiki maybe
18:45 goofy2I got the example configspace from the wiki, but in other ways, it is not too clarifying :(
18:59 goofy2If I call fai-setup, where is defined which packages will be used there?
19:06 goofy2Do I need the fai-packages in the repo I'm using?
19:06 goofy2Because there are no fai-* packages for Lucid yet..
19:30 mgoetzegoofy2: yes. there are fai packages for lucid somewhere.
19:31 goofy2Ok, but not in the official sources?
19:31 mgoetzeno
19:34 goofy2Ok, I will go and have a look for them. But I'm kinda curious why sysvinit breaks with my current setup :( Can I add repository keys for the fai-setup as well? Already exported keys into /package_config/, but fai-setup seems to ignore them.
19:55 goofy2As I ignored the warning, the install somehow completed, but KVM won't boot the installed VM. D'oh.
