14:27 oz__no fai in ubunut 10.4 yet?
14:27 oz__ubuntu 10.4, even
14:28 oz__but there is fts-fai-ldap - LDAP FAI module for the TFTP/Fuse supplicant
Action: oz__ wonders a bit
allee-k (~allee-k@p54A4592F.dip.t-dialin.net) joined #fai.
14:48 MrfaiIt's part of GOsa, which includes FAI
14:50 oz__gee
Action: oz__ will have fun next week
14:51 oz__why not the other way round?
14:54 MrfaiI do not like the other way around: FAI requires GOSa? Never!
14:55 oz__hehe
14:56 oz__but if it's part of gosa, it is like that?
14:56 oz__how can I install fai without gosa?
14:58 Mrfaioz__: you _can_ do FAI without GOsa. You should know that ;-)
15:00 oz__yea, did it plenty of times
15:00 oz__but i miss the fai pkgs now
15:03 MrfaiUnfortunately an official FAI package for Ubuntu is not yet prepared. IIRC only a PPA is available.
15:05 MrfaiI'm not sure how well the work on FAI for Ubuntu is coordinated. Not all people of the FAI Ubuntu team are active (https://launchpad.net/~fai)
15:06 MrfaiGuys, you are welcome to coordinate your work on the linux-fai (or linux-fai-developers) mailing list.
15:21 torkeloz__: I built some fai packages yesterday that hopefully will end up in the fai ppa in due time after some more testing
15:22 torkeloz__:
15:22 torkeloz__: http://www.hpc2n.umu.se/staff/torkel/fai/
15:23 torkeloz__: they are quick'n'dirty though

15:39 allee-kMrfai:  if unionfs/aufs/fuse*  in ubuntu kernel would better work with NFSroot mount I could spend much more time on ubuntu pkgs.  At least I spend 95% off my FAI time to find work arounds for such kernel panics
15:40 allee-kIt's really %@#$$%  some times

16:50 \shallee-k, this unionfs crap does work now since jaunty/karmic imho.
16:51 \shkarmic actually worked

18:29 FBIfai: had this "last;" in there.

20:01 allee-k\sh: can't confirm here: karmic panics with HS21 and PowerEdge 410 and with Dell Optiplex 780 (and 760 AFAIR).  At least the Optiplex make no trouble in lucid.  But still far from perfect with the models we have here ;)
20:38 oz__torkel: thx for the hint, I'll try
