[12:49] hello. everyone =) [12:51] today im fighting with setup-storage, but i keep getting following error: [12:51] Starting setup-storage 1.0.3 [12:51] Using config file: /var/lib/fai/config/disk_config/FAIBASE [12:51] Executing: parted -s /dev/sda unit TiB print [12:51] Command parted -s /dev/sda unit TiB print had exit code 1 [12:51] INTERNAL ERROR in setup-storage: [12:51] Table header not seen yet [12:51] i found some pages regarding this and upgraded parted to a newer version, but no change. [12:52] if im running parted by hand, im getting [12:52] Error: Error initialising SCSI device /dev/sda - Invalid argument [12:53] but im able to partition with fdisk and mkfs.ext3 manually [12:53] any ideas, if setup-storage kind of broken? [12:54] whiche fai-server version? [12:55] FAI 3.2.17~lenny [12:56] well, its running on a karmic-ubuntu server. i downloaded the sources from deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/fai/ubuntu karmic main [12:57] yout need live-initramfs 1.173.1-1 [12:57] on the server, or inside the nfsroot? [12:58] i got the same error. After updating to the ne init-ramfs version and building the NFSROOT again all works fine [12:58] inside the nfsroot [12:58] brb trying [12:58] i updated to FAI 3.3.3 [13:06] allee-k (~allee-k@alleehol.mpe.mpg.de) joined #fai. [13:30] anyone saw this one (with fai 3.3?) [13:31] dpkg: error processing fai-client (--configure): [13:31] EOF on stdin at conffile prompt [14:02] i just installed all the necessary files on http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/download/lenny/ and my fai-client installed w7o any problems on a karmic ubuntu [14:05] btw, the fai-guide still says "It's important that you find both lines that are marked with an asterisk in your output. Otherwise something went wrong.".. you should change this. [14:06] Why? [14:33] i think my fai install is correct, but there are no lines with asterisks [14:34] but well.. i had to export the /srv/fai/config by myself again, like stated in a former bug-report in the mailing list [14:40] The asterisks are only in the documentation, no in the console output [14:49] simNIX (~simNIX@156-60.bbned.dsl.internl.net) joined #fai.
