| 16:44 sts | hello folks! how can i recreate the original /srv/fai/config? |

| 18:38 sts | anyone knows if this already got fixed: http://layer-acht.org/fai-irc/fai.log.20090707 (\sh reported it) |

| 19:04 BlindBunny | sts: do you mean the original config from /usr/share/doc/fai-doc/examples/simple/ ? |
| adb (~adb@144.85.45.157) joined #fai. |
| 19:28 sts | BlindBunny: yes |
| 19:28 sts | I think i found something: \sh, carsten and thomas where pathing the initramfs scripts: http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-fai@uni-koeln.de/msg02113.html |
| 19:30 sts | BlindBunny: how can i best rebuild the FAI initramfs? |
| 19:30 sts | ah make-fai-nfsroot does it... |
| 19:35 sts | BlindBunny: it didn't fix it either as it seems. |
| 19:35 sts | i see the client requesting, the server is answering (http://pastie.org/767854) but nothing happens |
| 19:36 BlindBunny | sts: it's just a guess but I'd say that an even an 'mkinitramfs' on any debian with the live-initramfs pkg installed creates a good FAI ramdisk |
| 19:37 sts | yeah, I already figured it out. |
| 19:38 BlindBunny | I don't get your config space question though - I mean - just copy the directory structure from /usr/share/doc/fai-doc/examples/simple/ to /srv/fai/config ? |
| 19:38 sts | yeah, i figured that out too. :) |
| 19:38 sts | sorry :) |
| 19:39 BlindBunny | k :) |
| adb (~adb@144.85.45.157) left irc: Remote host closed the connection |
| 19:39 BlindBunny | then I'm just a slow typer :) |

| 19:40 sts | no, my real problem is that my install client is stuck at configuring the interface using dhcp. |
| 19:41 sts | the client is requesting, the dhcp server is ACKing, but nothing happens. |
| 19:43 sts | an that problem is rather a pain in the ass, because it takes ages to debug it. |
| 19:48 BlindBunny | sts: yeah, unfortunately, I know that pain, too :/ |
| 19:48 sts | BlindBunny: it's not that it isn't working in general, it's only not working very often... |
| 19:48 sts | warr |
| 19:49 BlindBunny | sts: the dhcp client in ipconfig in the initramfs is somewhat picky |
| 19:50 BlindBunny | sts: I recompiled it so that it produces debugging output - would that be of any use to you? |
