11:03 JoelioDoes anyone have any working disk_configs with gpt-bios, so I can look at how it's done?
11:04 JoelioI'm having real difficulty provisioning a large filesystem (about 9TB)

12:44 JoelioNow I've set debug=1 I see that parted is complaining that /dev/sda contains GPT partition table, but there is no fake msdos partiton as there should be
12:45 JoelioThere's also an error saying "Table header not seen yet"
12:46 Joeliojust abiove the other error
12:53 JoelioAHA! Deleting all the partitions in parted and rerunning makes it work!
12:53 JoelioIt mst be due to the extra error that's generated from parted that's causing setup-storage to fail
12:54 Joelioparted is waiting for a Yes/No answer to if the partition was GPT

12:56 JoelioI think I might just add a "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1" to wipe the partition table every time..
12:59 JoelioThe damn thing *still* doesn't boot with gpt-bios though, grrr...
13:15 JoelioDoh! Would help if I used a bootloader that supported GPT
Action: Joelio hangs head in shame

13:26 ebbieJoelio: i think you have to wipe more then 512 bytes, got the same problem here and thinking about a hook that wipe the first bytes of the disk
13:26 torkel_glance: https://lists.uni-koeln.de/pipermail/linux-fai-devel/2009q4/000702.html
Nick change: torkel_ -> torkel
13:37 Joelioebbie: Sure.. the GPT stuff may take up more space. Generally it would be the first 512 bytes that tells the bootloader etc.. A hook would be a good idea, better would be to fix the output in parted, but c'estla vie! :)

14:48 JoelioAnyone here have experience of using grub2 in their config space?

15:25 mgoetzeJoelio: supposedly the simple-examples have a grub2 class as of fai 3.3
15:50 Joeliomgoetze: Is that in SVN I take it? I'll have a look anyway, cheers for the pointer
16:15 JoelioNo, there's nothing relating to GRUB2 in http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/fai/tags/3.3/#_tags_3.3_
16:15 Mrfailook for GRUB_PC
16:36 JoelioMrfai: I added GRUB_PC to ADDCLASSES on the kernel line. Now I just get GRUB upon boot and nothing else, sigh..

16:52 MrfaiI did it test myself.
16:53 MrfaiYou should use the search function on this page http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/mailinglist/
16:53 Mrfaisearch for gpt
17:06 JoelioExcellent, I wasn't aware of the search function.. I won't pester the IRC channel as much now :)
