[11:04] I'm having real difficulty provisioning a large filesystem (about 9TB) [11:23] ErKa (~keryell@APuteaux-154-1-39-240.w83-199.abo.wanadoo.fr) joined #fai. Deleting all the partitions in parted and rerunning makes it work! [12:53] It mst be due to the extra error that's generated from parted that's causing setup-storage to fail [12:54] parted is waiting for a Yes/No answer to if the partition was GPT [12:55] allee-k (~allee-k@p54A44186.dip.t-dialin.net) joined #fai. [12:56] I think I might just add a "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1" to wipe the partition table every time.. [12:59] The damn thing *still* doesn't boot with gpt-bios though, grrr... [13:15] Doh! Would help if I used a bootloader that supported GPT [13:15] Action: Joelio hangs head in shame [13:23] siggg (~jean@tra78-3-82-244-85-196.fbx.proxad.net) left irc: Ping timeout: 480 seconds [13:26] Joelio: i think you have to wipe more then 512 bytes, got the same problem here and thinking about a hook that wipe the first bytes of the disk [13:26] glance: https://lists.uni-koeln.de/pipermail/linux-fai-devel/2009q4/000702.html [13:27] Nick change: torkel_ -> torkel [13:37] ebbie: Sure.. the GPT stuff may take up more space. Generally it would be the first 512 bytes that tells the bootloader etc.. A hook would be a good idea, better would be to fix the output in parted, but c'estla vie! :) [13:53] siggg (~jean@tra78-3-82-244-85-196.fbx.proxad.net) joined #fai. [14:48] Anyone here have experience of using grub2 in their config space? [15:04] verwilst (~verwilst@router.begen1.office.netnoc.eu) left irc: Remote host closed the connection [15:25] Joelio: supposedly the simple-examples have a grub2 class as of fai 3.3 [15:50] mgoetze: Is that in SVN I take it? I'll have a look anyway, cheers for the pointer [16:15] No, there's nothing relating to GRUB2 in http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/fai/tags/3.3/#_tags_3.3_ [16:15] look for GRUB_PC [16:36] Mrfai: I added GRUB_PC to ADDCLASSES on the kernel line. Now I just get GRUB upon boot and nothing else, sigh.. [16:46] siggg (~jean@tra78-3-82-244-85-196.fbx.proxad.net) left irc: Quit: Leaving. [16:52] I did it test myself. [16:53] You should use the search function on this page http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/mailinglist/ [16:53] search for gpt [17:06] Excellent, I wasn't aware of the search function.. I won't pester the IRC channel as much now :) [17:31] ErKa (~keryell@APuteaux-154-1-39-240.w83-199.abo.wanadoo.fr) left irc: Remote host closed the connection [17:41] Mrfai (~lange@suenner.informatik.uni-koeln.de) left irc: Quit: leaving [17:46] ErKa (~keryell@APuteaux-154-1-39-240.w83-199.abo.wanadoo.fr) joined #fai.
