However the USB stick is failing with a grub error? [13:18] try your stick on another computer. Some BIOSes may not boot properly from USB sticks. Also some USB sticks cause problems. The plan was to dispatch the usb sricks with the machine to $REMOTE_PLACE and then use the DRAC to console in and reinstall in emergency situations.
