Question about setup-storage: when I specify ext4 as the file system type, setup-storage runs parted to create the respective partition but parted fails because it does not support 'ext4', only ext2 (which makes sense from a partitioning perspective). Shouldn't setup-storage translate ext4 to ext2 for parted? Or am I just using an old version of setup-storage? [10:16] I think the problem is an old version of parted. [10:18] Mrfai: I'll give that a shot, though the documentation on the web page of parted doesn't declare ext4 as legal, but that may be outdated, too [10:22] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=511224 [10:24] Mrfai: thx. I think I'll just modify my local setup-storage. Easier than upgrading parted :-) [10:35] If anyone cares, here's a patch against the current SVN FAI sources (should patch against Debian packages, too) to create ext4 partitions with a standard Debian Lenny NFS root: [10:36] --- lib/setup-storage/Commands.pm.org 2009-11-26 10:55:39.836107489 +0100 [10:36] +++ lib/setup-storage/Commands.pm 2009-11-26 11:33:13.484093488 +0100 [10:36] @@ -819,6 +819,7 @@ [10:36] $fs = "linux-swap" if ($fs eq "swap"); [10:36] $fs = "fat32" if ($fs eq "vfat"); [10:36] $fs = "fat16" if ($fs eq "msdos"); [10:36] + $fs = "ext2" if ($fs eq "ext4"); [10:36] $fs = $FAI::current_config{$disk}{partitions}{$mapped_id}{filesystem} [10:36] if ($part->{size}->{preserve} || $part->{size}->{resize}); [10:36] $fs = "" if ($fs eq "-"); [11:29] donnie_darko (~Robert@93.83.155.242) joined #fai.
