When I create the bootable USB stick I get a couple of rsync chgrp and symlink errors and when I try and boot from the resulting USB stick I get "run-init: /sbin/init: No such file or directory" [10:57] This is my first attempted FAI install so although I believe I have followed the install guide accurately I may have made a mistake [11:06] sep (~sep@40.211.jostedal.no) joined #fai. [12:21] I created the disk with mkfs.ext2 under lenny but it did show up as FAT32 in "fdisk -l" [12:29] That's not good [12:31] ok, thanks, I will try reformatting and redoing USB stick [13:00] well i made a new partition and ext2fs using parted rather than fdisk this time and fdisk -l still reports it as "W95 FAT32" so I'm sure this is ext2 and just being misreported in fdisk for some reason [13:39] you can set the type of a partition. Maybe the type is set to fai32, but the filesystem is ext2 [13:39] you can change the type using cfdisk [13:55] both the partition and fs were set to ext2 - "parted /dev/sdb1 mkpart primary ext2 0 8011" and "parted /dev/sdb1 mkfs 1 ext2" or thereabouts [14:00] ok, then something was going wrong, when you called fai-cd, or your nfsroot is already broken.
