08:55 Steffenhello, perhaps someone have an idea. We use FAI 3.2.X and want to use fai to setup xen domains. For 3.2 i need unionfs. What Version of unionfs i need with Kernel 2.6.26-2?

12:24 JulienDevHello
12:26 JulienDevWhen I launch the installation on a new server (Dell PowerEdge r640), I have the following error "firmware: requesting bxn2-4.0.5.fw"

13:13 gebiJulienDev: maybe you need firmware-bnx2 package in nfsroot?
13:15 gebiSteffen: i'm using fai 3.2 with kernel from unstable (2.6.30) and the corresponding aufs module
13:38 JulienDevYes I think but I don't know where I must put it
13:38 oz_/etc/fai/NFSROOT
13:39 JulienDevAh
13:39 JulienDevI didn't try in this nfsroot directory
13:41 JulienDevin fact, this is not a directory, it's a text file
13:42 oz_JulienDev: that file determines which pkgs are installed to the nfsroot. a very important file.
13:44 JulienDevOk, if I understand well, I need to add the name of the package in PACKAGES aptitude
13:57 gebihow do i update the nfsroot and base tar.gz?
13:58 gebiupdate-fai-nfsroot just exits with error: ln: creating symbolic link `/srv/fai/nfsroot/live/filesystem.dir/usr/sbin/fai': File exists
13:58 oz_JulienDev: yes
14:01 JulienDevoz_ : It's not a problem if the package is a non-free package?
14:03 oz_not if you did add it to /etc/fai/apt/sources.list iirc
14:03 oz_'it' = the non-free repository
14:21 JulienDevOk thank you very much, I'm updating my local mirror with non-free settings
14:22 oz_It's a pleasure to be a helping hand

17:29 __morgoth__Hi would it bee possible to install client which will not support nfs using fai?
17:31 mgoetze__morgoth__: of course, in fact it is the default. or do you mean the installation system should not use nfs?
17:32 __morgoth__second question is how would someone change contents of base.tgz? which classes controls its contents? Thanks
17:33 mgoetze__morgoth__: /etc/fai/NFSROOT
17:37 __morgoth__no i would like to use fai to install linux on computer where i dont want to use nfs, i tried to remove package from DEFAULT class but then i got error during installation process, computer on which debian would bee installend will not use nfs

18:05 mgoetze__morgoth__: have you read the fai guide? how about the manpage of fai-cd?
18:06 mgoetze__morgoth__: anyway, in theory nfs is not needed at all. the config space at least is easy to get via other methods, however you will have trouble with the root filesystem
18:07 mgoetze__morgoth__: presumably you could also get it via CIFS, if you told us more exactly what you want to achieve i probably wouldn't need to suggest that, though
