11:25 RenJuanyello, spricht man English hier?
11:26 RenJuanby the topic I assume so.
11:27 RenJuanmy question is, does FAI use nfsroot against nfs4 servers?
11:29 RenJuandeutsche antworten auch willkommend

19:09 RenJuansorry if I missed anything addressed to me, accidentally disconnected in another client while attempting to check channel activity
20:45 mgoetzeRenJuan: i haven't personally tried with nfsv4 but i assume as long as it's supported by the kernel it will work
20:46 RenJuanwell on the one hand the principal NFS4 developer has explicitly stated his strong opposition to supporting nfsroot in v4 and it is in fact observed by me not to work.
20:47 RenJuanon the other hand the corrections in construction of initrd seem to be clearly spelled out so I assume it is readily adressable without changing NFS4.
20:47 RenJuan*addressable
20:49 RenJuan(in particular I use nfsroot for a debian 4 client against a Fedora core 4 NFS server;the same server running F10 and the same client don't work)
20:50 RenJuanin process of upgrading both but without blocking other activities so should be resolved in a few weeks at most
20:51 RenJuanNFS versioning is somewhat obscure, btw
20:52 RenJuanat the installed package/subsystem level, not the protocol level
