| 01:48 puck | ahhh, after digging through traffic dumps it seems that nfsmount is using V3 for mount. but nfs-user-server is V2. |
| 01:48 puck | Gah |
| 02:32 puck | Can anyone point me to how nfsmount gets into the initrd image? |

| 08:17 puck | For the logs, I fixed my rpc failed: 2 problems with nfsmount by adding "nfsopts=-ov2" to the pxeboot.cfg/default file for each line |
| 08:18 puck | I've also just discovered why FAI isn't seeing the hard drives in this new box, disk-info is seeing that they're group "floppy". FAIL |
| 08:18 puck | So it doesn't consider them disks. :( |
| 08:26 puck | Dave B has responded. |
| 08:26 puck | Thunderbirds are go |
| 08:26 puck | Two new etch backends |
| 08:27 puck | ww |
| 08:27 puck | :) |
| 08:27 BScherrer | hi, is here a possibility to import the gpg of the fai rep during the installation? I want to get rid of the error log gpg error and have the key in the new installation. |
| 08:28 puck | yes, do it a hook before instsoft. |
| 08:29 puck | er, updatebase |
| 08:29 BScherrer | I've created a hook at updatebade, but it does not work - ah, so I shall try it at instsoft? |
| 08:29 BScherrer | oh |
| 08:30 BScherrer | do you know what exactly to put into the hook? I tried the line fom the fai homepage, but it's not working |
| 08:30 puck | yup, please hold the line |
| 08:31 puck | http://paste.dollyfish.net.nz/37dc70 |
| 08:31 puck | Although the final update and install aren't needed |
| 08:31 puck | And if the key is in the public keyservers then you could use the advanced feature of apt-key to install it |
| 08:38 BScherrer | thanks! I try it out right now! |
| 08:39 BScherrer | hm, during the installation I get "gpg: can't open '/root//.gnupg/pubring.gpg': no such file or directory |
| 08:40 puck | That's okay |
| 08:40 puck | I commented out the stat -c %G line in disk-info and my server is happily building now |

| 09:15 BScherrer | puck: hm, I put you lines into updatebase, but I'm still getting the error and have no key |
| 09:32 Mrfai | faiwiki is back online |
| 09:39 puck | BScherrer: into hooks/updatebase.<some class that is defined> ? |
| 09:40 puck | off to bed. 'night |
| 09:41 BScherrer | puck: yes, updatebase.faibase |
| 09:41 puck | faibase or FAIBASE? |
| 09:41 puck | gotta go, good luck! |
| 09:41 BScherrer | puck: updatebase.FAIBASE, sorry |
| 09:43 BScherrer | puck: wow, cool, it worked! I rebuild my nfsroot and commented the apt-get update and install debian-keyring out |
| 09:43 BScherrer | thanks! |

| 11:07 mgoetze | can i take the configuration tree from an etch fai server and use it on a lenny fai server unchanged? or is there some gotcha? |
| 11:18 BScherrer | mgoetze: I did it just on tuesday, it worked good. Just look out for the new partitioning tool, there you need another config file. Afterwards, check the error.log, there might be some packages that aren't available anymore on lenny, but it doesn't matter. Maybe some gnome-packages also changed, but not significantly |
| 11:25 mgoetze | i thought the old partitioning tool is used by default? |
| 11:26 BScherrer | mgoetze: oh, hm, could be that I put a 1 somewhere ;) |
| 11:27 BScherrer | so I'm not sure, but you can configure that |
| 11:52 BScherrer | mgoetze: seems like in /srv/fai/config/class/FAIBASE.var there is USE_SETUP_STORAGE=1 as default. |
| 11:53 BScherrer | just installed a new lenny machine and am creating a new FAI server from scratch to go through my documentation |
| 12:31 mgoetze | BScherrer: ok, yeah, but if i just copy my complete current configuration that won't be there :) |
| 12:34 BScherrer | yes ;) |
