08:47 mettlerhow do you install sun-java6-bin unattended?
08:49 ritter@mettler: you have to set the debconf-value that you accepted the Sun-Licence
08:49 ritterat least this works for me in my debconf/CLASS:
08:50 Mrfai# JAVA1.5: answers
08:50 Mrfaisun-java5-bin   shared/accepted-sun-dlj-v1-1    boolean true

08:50 Mrfaithis is for lenny
08:50 mettlerhey, thx alot!!!
08:50 ritterworks on hardy to
08:53 ritterit seems that with my testsetup on hardy (fai-client 3.2.4+svn4837), $HOSTNAME is not set during fai softupdate.
08:57 mettlerneed another hint ;) fai-cd (usb stick): /dev/ram0 not found ..dropping to initramfs
08:57 mettlerwhen i try to mount manually (mount /dev/sdc1 /root) it says: invalid argument
08:58 mettlerbut i think the modules and correct kernel is on the stick
09:06 formorermount -t <filesystem>
09:24 mettlertried, mount -t ext2 .. same -building a new stick, think something must have gone wrong
09:43 mettlerhmm getting several "operation not permitted" ;(

09:50 mgoetzemettler: do you have the ext2 module available in the initramfs, or only the ext3 module?
09:52 mettleri did not have it ... thx ;)
09:56 mgoetzeit seems with 2.6.24, the ext3 module was still able to mount ext2 filesystems, but with 2.6.28, it can't
09:56 mgoetzereminds me that i wanted to file a bug against initramfs-tools

13:22 mettlerfai-cd,booting from usb: ALERT /dev/ram0 does not exist, mising modules?...
13:22 mettlerbut at least i can now mount the stick
13:24 mettleris there any documentation, but man fai-cd ?
13:24 mettleri think the initrd isn't setup correctly, maybe real_root=/dev/sdc1 needed?!

13:57 Mrfaiare you using the plain Debian kernel? Are you using Debian or Ubuntu? Which fai version?
13:58 mettlersry, FAI 3.2.8 - with ubuntu kernel
13:59 mettlerso it is a 2.6.23 kernel
13:59 mettlerthe stick boots, detects the stick ("attached sg...usb device") and then timeouts me to busyBox
14:00 mettlerin busyBox i can mount the stick with "mount -t ext2 /dev/sdc1 /root"...
14:01 mettlerthe last message ist "ALERT /dev/ram0 does not exist ...dropping to shell", missing modules?
14:01 mettlerwhen i do "mount /dev/ram0 /root"  ..i get "invalid argument"
14:25 oz__mettler: I think that's due to the missing /dev/ram0
14:28 mettlermknod /dev/ram0 b 1 1   -file exists
14:30 mettlerit says(before dropping) check root=   ....maybe the linuxrc script does not work with this kernelversion?

15:01 mettlerhm ;( -any help very much appreciated ;) have to setup a offline faiserver with a own debmirror...
15:31 Mrfaimettler: I'm pretty sure, that the cause of your problems is that you are using the Ubuntu packages for initramfs and live-initramfs. I'm sure creating a usb stick with Debian etch is working.
