[09:48] hi, i read on http://faiwiki.informatik.uni-koeln.de/index.php/User_FAQ you can use something similar to make-fai-bootfloppy "FAI_FLAGS=verbose,createvt,sshd". but i have not make-fai-bootfloppy in my path. [09:56] jstein3_: what FAI version are you using? [09:56] no /usr/sbin/make-fai-bootfloppy ? [10:04] jstein3_: newer FAI version does not support bootinf from floppy any more. If you need boot floppy support, have a look at etherboot and rom-o-matic.net [10:08] jstein3_: where do you like to use FAI? [12:08] Mrfai, Hi Thomas [12:09] (kollege ;-) [12:09] Tobias hatte dir neulich gemailt... I've got a farm of servers which I want to generate FAI configs for. Right now, my question is about the disk_config files, and more specifically what the best way to go about generating the disk_config class file is. Say, for example, I want to generate a config for my web nodes (for pedagogical purposes, a WEBNODES class). The partition_harddisks script uses sfdisk, but... [13:38] ...doesn't accept a literal 'sfdisk -d' output. Thus, my current method of though involves some scripts to manipulate fdisk/sfdisk output to create a config file in the format FAI expects. [13:39] Is there an accepted way of automating the creation of the disk_config files? [13:41] torkel (torkel@ip64.degernas.se) joined #fai. [13:46] the best way is to use your editor of choice and to just type in the disk_config. It's was made so easy, that there's no need to use sfdisk output or whatever. [13:50] Mrfai: Yeah, but if I already have many existing servers in a range of classes, checking each one manually to create a disk_config file could take a long time :) [15:17] Mrfai (~lange@suenner.informatik.uni-koeln.de) left irc: Quit: leaving [15:39] ErKa (~keryell@pat46-invites.rennes.enst-bretagne.fr) left irc: Ping timeout: 480 seconds [16:16] fai-guy (~fai-guy@p4FC237BF.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) left irc: Quit: leaving [16:18] sepski (~sep@217.17.211.51) joined #fai.
