[10:10] Hello [10:10] I'm trying to use the LVM simple example of fai-2.10, and it fails: [10:11] Starting setup-storage 1.0.1 [10:11] ERROR (line 8): Invalid file: Was expecting /\Z/ but found "my_pv_swap [10:11] swap 2000 swap sw" instead [10:11] Has someone any idea of what mistake I'm made? [10:25] enable the debug mode by defining debug=1 in a *.var file and put the output to paste.debian.net. Maybe someone can help then. [10:29] Ok [10:30] I have misread the manual, thought that debug was on by default in setup-storage [10:30] so you fixed it already? [10:32] No, I've just added the debug option in FAIBASE.var :) [10:34] stockholm: which binaries? [10:35] stockholm: we are using a hook for all our disksetups [10:36] Ok, I have pasted the fai log file: http://paste.debian.net/17290/ [10:38] Table header not seen yet [10:38] This is your problrm. parted has changed its output slightly. [10:38] Wait, I can give you a simple patch [10:39] torkel: for example for lsi raid controllers, or ASU binaries or the adaptec raid [10:40] torkel: what does that hook look like? :-) [10:41] stockholm: I'm not sure you really want to look at it, but anyway :-) http://www.hpc2n.umu.se/staff/torkel/fai/partition.HPC2NBASE.source [10:41] Nic0: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=497066 [10:46] torkel: is there any raid setup in there? i dont see it. [10:46] Mrfai: it works much better now, thankd for the patch [10:46] torkel: maswan said you used lsi controllers (3ware before) [10:47] stockholm: no. We are pushing ASU through our local package management system [10:47] Nic0: you may want to upgrade to 3.2.10 [10:47] ah. ok [10:47] stockholm: yeah, but we try to use what's in the distro kernels [10:47] Mrfai: do you do raid setup with fai? [10:48] torkel: can you do the initial setup with that? [10:48] torkel: or the reporting even? [10:49] stockholm: I think maswan knows that better than me :-) [10:49] maswan: ? [10:49] torkel: thanks :-) [10:49] stockholm: He's then one playing with the fun hardware :-) [10:49] ok. :-) [10:50] Mrfai: I was waiting for the announcement in lnux-fai to upgrade [10:50] stockholm: Initial setup is done manually [10:50] Not waiting any more, though [10:51] stockholm: as part of taking delivery of the hardware [10:52] stockholm: I did not test a raid setup myself [10:52] Action: Mrfai will write the announcement for 3.2.10 now [11:29] Mrfai: with raid hardware?? My xorg.conf only shows resolutions up to 1024x768. In http://layer-acht.org/fai-irc/fai.log.20070824.html, the change of xserver-xorg xserver-xorg/autodetect_monitor boolean false was suggested, but it does not work for me. I'd need a resolution of 1280x1024 (not as default, but as an option to choose later in gnome). [11:43] any ideas here? [11:44] hm. a soulution could be to use a preconfigured xorg.conf file [11:47] oz_: wouldn't this break the automatic detection of the graphic card? [11:48] I'd assume that change of xserver-xorg xserver-xorg/autodetect_monitor_boolean breaks it also [11:48] or could I just replace or add parts of the config file? [11:48] oh [11:48] sorry, don't know that [11:49] is it "autodetect_monitor_boolean"? I read "autodetect_monitor boolean", so this might be the point why it didn't work for me [11:51] oh, no [11:51] probably was a fault by me [11:52] ok, thanks! [13:12] dann bitte doch um 'age-time 20' :) [13:14] ErKa (keryell@m13.wifi.enstb.org) left irc: Ping timeout: 480 seconds [13:31] ErKa (keryell@keryell.pck.nerim.net) joined #fai.
